§ Sir R. Gowerasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether steps are being taken to incorporate in the Finance Bill for the current Session any of the recommendations in the Income Tax Codification Report; and, if not, whether these recommendations will form the basis of separate legislation?
Mr. ChamberlainThe examination of the proposals of the Income Tax Codification Committee is proceeding, but I am unable at present to indicate when it may be possible to introduce legislation.
