HC Deb 09 February 1937 vol 320 c235W
Mr. Cassells

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will state the number of road accidents for the year ending 26th December, 1936, in which private cars were involved?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

Analysis of the first 100,000 detailed reports of accidents involving personal injury for the year beginning 1st April, 1936, shows that of the 151,341 vehicles (including 48,391 pedal cycles) involved in those accidents, 47,683—or approaching one-third—were private cars.

Mr. Cassells

asked the Home Secretary the number of road accidents for the year ending 26th December, 1936, in which the driver of the car involved has not been traced by the police authorities?

Mr. Lloyd

I regret that the information asked for is not available.
