HC Deb 04 February 1937 vol 319 cc1796-7W
Sir P. Hurd

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that the provisions of the third party compensation clauses in the Road Traffic Act continue to prove inadequate to protect the interested injured persons; and when the committee which has been considering this and kindred matters will make its report?

Dr. Burgin

I am aware that, although the position has improved since the coming into operation of the Road Traffic Act, 1934, there are still occasional complaints with regard to the working of the provisions referred to by my hon. Friend. As regards the second part of the question, the Committee are now considering their report but I am not yet in a position to say when it will be presented.
