HC Deb 04 February 1937 vol 319 cc1794-5W
Mr. R. Beaumont

asked the hon. and gallant Member for Rye, as representing the Forestry Commissioners, when the proposed new roads linking up Esgairgeiliog, Aberllefeni, and Cemmaes, in the Dyfi Valley forests, Montgomeryshire, are expected to be completed; how many such roads will be constructed; whether they will be available for the use of the general public; and whether they will be handed over to the highway authority?

Sir G. Courthope

The proposed new roads in Dovey Valley will be made by men in training at an instructional centre to be established by the Ministry of Labour. As this has not yet been constructed it is impossible to predict the time when the roads will be completed, but it will not be for some years. Two roads are proposed, one from a point east of Aberllefeni to Cwmllecoediog and the other from Esgairgeiliog Farm to Cemmaes. They will be available for the use of the general public so far as there are public rights of way. They will not be handed over to the highway authority.
