WomersleyStudents from Birmingham University have been engaged for temporary employment during the Christmas pressure at the Birmingham Post Office, after the resources of the local Employment Exchanges to supply suitable men were exhausted. About 4,300 men had been engaged through the Employment Exchanges. The students are paid at the rate of 1s. 2d. an hour.
