HC Deb 23 December 1937 vol 330 c2167W
Colonel Ropner

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that the scheme of the West Riding County Council for the review of the areas as affecting the Tadcaster Rural District Council came only partially into effect on 1st April, 1937, and that the absence of a decision with reference to the future of the Garforth Urban District Council area and parishes of the Tadcaster Rural District Council adjoining thereto is causing dislocation of local administration; and whether he can now give any indication as to when a decision will be reached on this matter?

Sir K. Wood

I am aware of the outstanding matters affecting the Garforth urban district and certain adjoining parishes in the Tadcaster rural district. I cannot say when it will be possible for me to dispose of these matters, as the supplementary proposals affecting these areas which I am expecting from the county council have not yet reached me, but I hope it may soon be possible to reach a conclusion.
