Mr. Palmerasked the Minister of Transport whether the survey of the road between Basingstoke and Winchester has yet been completed; and whether any decision has been taken as to the question of its improvement?
§ Mr. BurginA preliminary survey has been completed and so far as can be seen at present it will be possible to carry out adequate improvements on this section without any major departure from the existing line. The full survey will not be completed for some time, and I am not yet able to say when improvements will be put in hand.
