§ Mr. Kennedyasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he has considered the complaints regarding the organisation of the Zetland County Police Force; whether he is informed of the age and efficiency of the superintendent of that force; and whether he proposes to take any action?
§ Mr. ElliotI have received representations regarding the Zetland Police Force but in view of the fact that this force is not subject to Government inspection and receives no police grant any complaint about its organisation is one for consideration in the first instance by the County Council. I am bringing the representations in question to the notice of the County Council, but I understand that their substance has already been inquired into by the Lord Advocate, who is satisfied that no justifiable ground for complaint exists.
