§ Mr. Hore-BelishaOn 1st December last the Regular Army was deficient of 973 officers and 18,990 other ranks. During the three months ended 30th November, 7,211 recruits were obtained, as compared with 5,289 during the corresponding period in 1936, being an increase of 1,922 or about 36 per cent.
