HC Deb 09 December 1937 vol 330 cc587-8W
Sir G. Fox

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether his Department has considered, and, if so, with what result, cooperation with the poultry industry in the cold storage of eggs during the glut season and their placing on the market when supplies are short and dear?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given on 7th December to my hon. Friend the Member for Tonbridge (Sir A. Baillie).

Mr. Adamson

asked the Minister of Agriculture what progress has been made with regard to the establishment of voluntary schemes of marketing eggs and fowls by the associations connected with poultry keepers in the country as a whole, or in certain areas of county associations?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

Authorised packers under the National Mark Schemes for eggs and poultry include 26 agricultural co-operative organisations, of which 19 have been formed since the inception of those Schemes. I regret that I have no complete information regarding similar organisations which do not market their produce under the National Mark.
