HC Deb 03 December 1937 vol 329 cc2418-9W
Marquess of Titchfield

asked the Minister of Agriculture what sum will be allocated to the Newark Internal Drainage Board and the Southwell Internal Drainage Board from the Government's new drainage grant?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

The amount of the grants which will be made to the two drainage boards mentioned will depend upon the number and scope of the schemes submitted by them which obtain my approval. Up to the present I have approved for a grant of 33⅓ percent. one scheme submitted by the Newark Board which is estimated to cost £1,308, and I am awaiting revised proposals from the same board with regard to work in connection with a new pumping plant contemplated at Marton near Gainsborough. I have as yet received no application for grant from the Southwell Board.
