HC Deb 02 December 1937 vol 329 cc2263-4W
Mr. Parker

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware that the London Passenger Transport Board is to make a large increase in fares from 5th December, 1937, on the motor-coach services from Aldgate to Romford and Upminster; that considerable discontent has been aroused by these changes which severely hit the districts concerned; and

Carntyne which is within the Glasgow City boundary?

Mr. Burgin

The surface of the Glasgow-Edinburgh Road in County areas, for which I am the highway authority, will be improved wherever and whenever necessary. The part at Carntyne within the City of Glasgow is the responsibility of the Corporation, who are the highway authority concerned.
