asked the Minister of Labour whether he has considered the question of marriage endowment insurance and the provision of pensions at 55 years of age for female domestic servants; and if he is now in a position to make any statement on the subject?

I have been asked to reply. As I informed my hon. Friend the Member for South Kensington (Sir W. Davison) on 22nd June last, I am afraid that there are serious practical difficulties which make it impossible for the Government to adopt a special scheme of this kind for a selected class of insured persons.
