HC Deb 02 December 1937 vol 329 c2280W
Mr. H. G. Williams

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he has made to British trade associations a request to be furnished with a list of commodities in respect of which tariff concessions are desired from the United States of America; and whether it is his intention to communicate to British trade interests a list of the commodities in respect of which tariff concessions in this country are being sought by the Government of the United States of America?

Mr. Stanley

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the second part, it is not the practice of His Majesty's Government in trade negotiations to communicate to trade interests the list of commodities in respect of which concessions from this country are being sought but I am always ready to consider representations from trade organisations who think that their interests may be affected.
