asked the Minister of Labour how many men, women, boys and girls, respectively, are registered as unemployed in the Borough of Leyton; and what percentages these numbers represent?

Following is the reply. The numbers of persons resident in the Borough of Leyton who were registered as unemployed at 15th March, 1937, were:

Men aged 18 years and over 1,673
Boys aged 14 and under 18 years 31
Women aged 18 years and over 340
Girls aged 14 and under 18 years 12
Total 2,056

The percentage rates of unemployment among persons aged 16–64 insured under the general scheme in Leyton at the same date were 5.7 for males and 3.4 for females.
