HC Deb 15 April 1937 vol 322 c1198W
Mr. Mainwaring

asked the Minister of Health whether he will enumerate the several counties that have been enabled, in consequence of increased grants, to reduce the county precepts upon rating authorities within their area and the amount of decreased rates in each case?

Sir K. Wood

I will send the hon. Member a statement showing the rates in the pound of the county precepts for general county purposes for 1937–38 (or the first half of that year) with the corresponding figures for 1936–37 as soon as the information is available.

Mr. Mainwaring

asked the Minister of Health what variation has taken place in the amount of rates levied by the rating authorities scheduled, partly or wholly, as special areas following upon the modification in the block-grant formula?

Sir K. Wood

I shall be happy to send the hon. Member a statement when copies of the rate demand notes of the authorities concerned are available.
