HC Deb 15 April 1937 vol 322 cc1196-7W
Mr. Price

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware of the recent unsettlement of commodity prices, due to rumours that the Federal authorities in the United States contemplate a reduction in the American buying power of gold; and whether, in view of the dislocation this would cause to world trade, he will consider further co-operation with the appropriate authorities in France and the United States along the lines of the tripartite exchange agreement last autumn?

Mr. Chamberlain

I would refer the hon. Member to the replies which I gave to questions on the same matter by my hon. Friend the Member for East Aberdeenshire (Mr. Boothby) on Tuesday last.
