§ Major Carverasked the Minister of Agriculture whether his information shows that in view of the higher prices for wheat British farmers are increasing the cultivation of cereals: and whether he can give any statistics on the subject?
§ Mr. W. S. MorrisonAccording to reports furnished by the Crop Reporters of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, the area sown to wheat by the 1st January was estimated as approximately 3 per cent, greater than in the preceding year. I regret that no later or more precise information is available as to the area under cereals this year.
