§ Mr. W. S. MORRISONI am aware that the poultry population has declined during the past two years, but I cannot say to what extent this is due to the causes mentioned by the hon. Member. The whole question of poultry mortality is being reviewed by a committee set up by the Secretary of State for Scotland and myself. In addition, the Agricultural Research Council is paying special attention to research into poultry diseases, particularly fowl paralysis and coccidiosis, and, in collaboration with the Ministry, is taking such steps as are practicable to expedite investigation.
