§ Mr. WAKEFIELDasked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware of the difficulties experienced by drivers of motor vehicles in seeing pedestrian crossings at night-time, due to inadequate lighting; and, in view of the dangers caused by this present state of affairs, what steps are being taken to improve their visibility?
§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAWhile the best procedure in most cases is to illuminate both the crossings and the pedestrian using them, we are watching with interest certain experiments which are being made by highway authorities to make the studs and curbs at such crossings more visible at night.
