§ Mr. McGOVERNasked the Lord Advocate whether his attention has been drawn to the number of cases recently 1523W before the courts in Glasgow where lawyers have been charged with fraudulent conversion of investment funds to their own use: whether there is any protection of clients by periodical examination of books and necessary production of funds; and if not, will he be prepared to amend the law with a view to this necessary protection of poor persons?
