§ Sir P. SASSOONAs regards the first part of the question I would refer the1348W hon. Member to Article 5 of the Anglo-Iraqi Treaty of Alliance, which was ratified on 26th January, 1931, and published in the White Paper "Treaty Series No. 15 (1931)," Cmd. 3797. As regards the second part, the cost is in the neighbourhood of £1,400,000 a year, and the answer to the third part is in the affirmative.
