MORRISONThe revenue from the Entertainments Duty for the eight months ending 29th February, 1936, was approximately £4,854,000; of that amount £4,246,000 came from places of entertainment in respect of which certified returns are accepted; of the latter amount approximately 67 per cent. was received from cinemas and 17 per cent. from places of entertainment qualifying for the reduced rates of duty provided by Section 1 (3) of the Finance Act, 1935, for "living entertainments."
