Mr. CREECH JONESasked the Home Secretary whether he will have recorded at the Home Office statistical information in respect to persons who are remanded in custody and refused bail and who are subsequently not convicted?
§ Sir J. SIMONThe question whether a Court is right in granting or refusing bail has no relation to the question whether the accused is or is not subsequently convicted, and I do not think that the labour that would be involved in collecting and tabulating this information would be justified.
