Mr. MARKHAM

asked the Minister of Pensions (1) as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether he is aware that the percentage of relative humidity in the House and Libraries has been consistently above 70 per cent. during the past few days; and whether he will consult air-conditioning experts with a view to securing drier air during the summer;

(2) as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether he is aware that the temperature of the Libraries has exceeded 75 degrees for several hours each day of this week; and whether he will consider the introduction of air-conditioning apparatus in order to secure more equable conditions?
