HC Deb 26 June 1936 vol 313 cc2117-8W
Mr. LOVAT-FRASER

asked the Minister of Health whether he has read the report of the annual general meeting of the Educational Institute of Scotland and has noted the demand put forward for the appointment of a strong and representative national committee to explore the whole subject of malnutrition of children; and whether he will consider the desirability of appointing such a committee?

Sir G. COLLINS

I have seen a report of the Presidential address at this meeting and have noted the suggestion to which my hon. Friend refers. I would point out that the Advisory Committee on Nutrition which was appointed last year by the Minister of Health and myself is engaged in reviewing all questions relating to nutrition and I see no necessity for setting up a further Committee.
