Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe approximate amount of Customs duties collected 1975W on foodstuffs, including tea, coffee, cocoa and certain foodstuffs used in part as feeding stuffs for animals (which cannot be separately distinguished) was £31,265,000, during the financial year 1934–35, and £33,831,000 during the financial year 1935–36. I regret I am unable to furnish an estimate of the yield of these duties during the present financial year.
