§ Mr. GRENFELLasked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether he has any information to give on the resolution of the legislative assembly in favour of denunciation of the Ottawa Agreement; what position is being taken by His Majesty's Government in India; and whether the proposal to appoint a committee to examine the working of the Ottawa Agreement has been abandoned?
§ Mr. BUTLERThe Government of India have given notice to terminate their Ottawa Agreement with this country with effect from the 13th November next. The question of opening negotiations for a new agreement is under discussion between the two Governments. I am not aware that there is any present intention of appointing a, committee on the subject.
