§ Mr. OLIVERasked the Home Secretary what steps have been taken to secure evidence for the departmental committee inquiry into the employment of young persons in unregulated occupations; and whether information has been, or will be, obtained from every employer concerned of the number of young persons employed, with their weekly total hours of work and the rates of wages paid to them?
§ Sir J. SIMONI understand that the Committee are taking steps to secure the fullest possible evidence in regard to the working hours of the young persons covered by the inquiry from organisations representing both employers and workers and from other bodies interested in the question. In addition, much information has been collected and placed at the disposal of the Committee by the Home Office and Ministry of Labour. It will be for the Committee to decide whether the material thus obtained is sufficient for their purpose.
