HC Deb 17 June 1936 vol 313 cc1010-1W
Mr. PRICE

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether, in view of the obstruction of business at the recent annual meeting of the Milk Marketing Board by a small body of milk producers, he will consider an amendment to the constitution of the board whereby each district throughout the country shall in future send elected delegates to represent registered producers at the annual meeting?

Mr. RAMSBOTHAM

My right hon. Friend has no power to initiate such an amendment to a marketing scheme. Under the precedure laid down under the Acts, proposals for amendment of a scheme which may be submitted by a Marketing Board in pursuance of its statutory powers would fall for consideration by him in the normal course.
