HC Deb 17 June 1936 vol 313 c1009W
Mr. MANDER

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether he will consider the advisability of re-establishing the Civil Aviation Consultative Committee, which was disbanded in 1930, and of reviving its terms of reference?

Sir P. SASSOON

My Noble Friend considers that, having regard to the institution last year of the Interdepartmental Committee on International Air Communications, the re-establishment of the Civil Aviation Consultative Committee would serve no useful purpose. He considers it preferable, in so far as it is necessary to supplement the work of the Interdepartmental Committee, to proceed by means ofad hoc committees such as the Gorell Committee and the Committee now sitting under the chairmanship of Sir Henry Maybury.
