§ Mr. KIRBYasked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that a meeting of the Liverpool Public Assistance Committee, held on Wednesday, 22nd July, carried a resolution in favour of a scheme whereby public assistance will be assessed and dispensed by paid officials instead of publicly elected representatives as at 1104W present; that discussion on the proposed scheme was not allowed, and that the procedure was against the standing orders of the council and therefore illegal; and will he at once make inquiry into this matter with a view to the scheme being adequately investigated?
§ Sir K. WOODI have no authority to determine questions as to the legality of the procedure at meetings of Public Assistance Committees.
