The number of active accounts in 53W the Post Office Savings Back on the 30th June, 1936, was total 10,200,000, and the total balance, with accrued interest, due to depositors on that date was £414,712,000. During the 12 months ended the 31st December, 1935, the amount deposited, including interest credited, was £125,154,000, and the amount withdrawn was £89,653,000.
