§ Mr. E. BROWNAt 22nd June, 1936, there was 1,702,676 unemployed persons on the registers of Employment Exchanges in Great Britain, of whom 616,122 had application authorised for unemployment allowances. The corresponding figures for South Wales and Monmouthshire were 180,717 and 92,709 respectively.
