§ Mr. DREWEasked the Minister of Agriculture what steps are being taken to secure the adoption by other countries of the regulations governing the mesh of fishing nets similar to those in force in this country?
§ Mr. RAMSBOTHAMThe International Council for the Exploration of the Sea have recommended the general adoption, as a minimum, of mesh regulations and size limits for fish similar to those in force in this country. The 1889W Government are anxious that this recommendation should be put into effect, and have accordingly invited the Governments of all the countries concerned to send representatives to a conference in London in the autumn of this year for the purpose of discussing the recommendation, and, it is hoped, of agreeing upon the heads of a Convention to give effect to it.
