§ Mr. LECKIEasked the President of the Board of Trade whether steps are being taken to draw up a trade agreement between the United Kingdom and Turkey to take the place of the temporary agreement which comes to an end shortly; and if he will take into consideration the representations he has received from the British Chamber of Commerce in Turkey on this matter?
§ Dr. BURGINThe Agreement in question does not terminate unless denounced by either party. The major difficulties in the operation of the Agreement to which the British Chamber of Commerce in Turkey drew attention, have been under consideration for some time past,674W and proposals for surmounting them have been made to the Turkish Government. The further suggestions of the Chamber will be taken into consideration in the event of it being necessary to re-negotiate the Agreement.
