asked the Minister of Agriculture how many persons were working for wages in the agricultural industry for the year 1931 and each succeeding year?

The number of workers employed on agricultural holdings above one acre in extent in England and Wales, as returned on the 4th June of each of the years 1931–1936. is given in the following statement:

The projected arrangements for the North Atlantic Air Service were fully explained on the 30th July last, in reply to a question by my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Berwick and Haddington (Captain McEwen), and it is not the intention to subsidise alternative schemes. I am sending the hon. Member a copy of the reply in question. No question of legislation arises.
