HC Deb 02 December 1936 vol 318 c1267W
Mr. MANDER

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs who will represent Great Britain at the meeting of the revision committee of the Covenant of the League of Nations on 7th December; and whether he will instruct the British delegates to support the recommendations of the women's consultative committee submitted to the last Assembly?

Viscount CRANBORNE

The representative of His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom on the Special Committee set up to study the application of the principles of the Covenant will be the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs. As regards the last part of the question, I presume that the hon. Member is referring to the recommendations of the Women's Consultative Committee on Nationality which were contained in a communication addressed to the President of the Assembly on 21st September, 1936. In the event of these recommendations coming before the Special Committee, the representative of His Majesty's Government will give them careful attention.
