asked the Attorney General, whether he will state the number of convictions that have been obtained during the five years ended to the last convenient date under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1906, and the extension of same in 1916; and the number of cases in which his fiat has been granted or refused during that period?

The ATTORNEY-GENERAL

During the five years ended the 31st December, 1935, the Fiat to commence proceedings under the Prevention of Corruption Acts, 1906 and 1916 was granted in 156 cases and refused in 6. There were 140 convictions.
