asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can give any information as to the present state of the manganese industry on the Gold Coast?

Mr. THOMAS

I am glad to say that the exports of manganese from the Gold Coast have recently increased considerably, as shown by e following figures for the last three years:

1935 399,000

It is anticipated that there will be a further increase in the present year.
