asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he will state for the latest year for which figures are available the annual value of the output from holdings over one acre in England and Wales of wheat, barley, and oats, not including the proportion of the crops retained on farms for seed or feed?

Mr. ELLIOT

The estimated value of the output from holdings over one acre in England and Wales in the cereal year 1933–4, of wheat, barley, and oats, excluding the proportions retained on farms, was £4,000,000, £3,700,000, and £1,450,000, respectively. Deficiency payments under the Wheat Act, 1932, have been excluded.

Mr. ELLIOT

The estimated value of the output of poultry and eggs from holdings over one acre in England and Wales in the year ended 31st May, 1934, was £5,770,000 and £15,480,000, respectively.
