§ Mr. HACKINGApart from typewriting and duplicating machines, 205 machines of various types are in use in the War Office and the outside military establishments in substitution for hand clerical labour, and the introduction of further machines is under continuous consideration. The annual saving secured is known to be considerable, but it would not be possible to give an estimate without a disproportionate amount of labour.
