§ Miss RATHBONEasked the Secretary of State for India whether he is aware that one of the accused persons in the Burge murder case, Kamakshya Charan Ghose, was beaten by the police during the course of their investigation into the circumstances of the murder in order to obtain a confession of guilt; whether the investigation promised by the home member in the Bengal Legislative Council on 18th December, 1934, has been completed: and, if so, who were the officers responsible for the beating and what disciplinary action has been taken?
