HC Deb 22 February 1935 vol 298 c690W
Mr. T. MORRIS

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is satisfied that sufficient efforts are being made by the shipbuilding industry to produce a type of motor-driven coastal vessel which can compete with similar Dutch vessels operating in our waters, and especially on the east coast?

Dr. BURGIN

My hon. Friend need have no doubts as to the competence of the British shipbuilding industry to produce vessels of this type, or any other.
