§ Mr. E. BROWNSince 1st April, 1933, 566 boys, have been trained and placed in agricultural employment by the Young Men's Christian Association, and 54 boys by the Liverpool Local Education Authority, under agreements made with the Ministry. The Ministry of Labour makes a grant of £8 per head in respect of each boy who is trained and placed.
§ Mr. SHORTasked the Minister of Labour what are the rates of pay and hours of work of town boys found employment by the Young Men's Christian Association and the Liverpool Education Committee, respectively?
§ Mr. E. BROWNThe rates of pay of boys placed in agricultural employment by the Young Men's Christian Association and the Liverpool Local Education Authority are not less than the minimum rates prescribed by the Agricultural Wages Committees. The hours of work are those customarily observed in the district.
