§ Mr. HALL-CAINEasked the Home Secretary whether he can state in what way arrangements will be made to ensure that the £5,000 to be distributed by the Racecourse Betting Control Board for the assistance of horse-breeding during 1936 will be distributed in such a way as to benefit all types of horse-breeding; and whether he is aware that all sections of the industry have not benefited by this distribution up to date?
§ Mr. LLOYDThe grant of £5,000 is a grant to the Hunters' Improvement and National Light Horse Breeding Society to be awarded as premiums for thoroughbred stallions in 1936. As regards grants to other sections of horse-breeding, I can only refer my hon. Friend to the reply which I gave to him on the 5th instant.
