§ Dr. BURGINThe total declared value of articles of food and drink, including living animals for food and feeding-stuffs for animals, imported into this country during each of the years 1930 to 1934 was £459 million, £405 million, £363 million, £328 million and £330 million. Estimating the imports in subsequent years at the prices recorded for similar descriptions of goods in 1930, the figures for 1931 to 1934 become £499 million, £477 million, £463 million and £464 million.
