§ Colonel CLIFTON BROWNasked the Minister of Labour whether there are instructions laid down for the Unemployment Assistance Board to the effect that outstanding allowances due to a deceased person are not payable to the widow; and, if so, whether he can see his way to cancel this instruction?
§ Lieut.-Colonel MUIRHEADI am informed that the board have been advised that they have no power to pay allowances generally in respect of deceased persons. The precise extent of the board's powers in this matter are, however, under further examination.
