WOODI am advised that a false membrane is a local manifestation of disease commonly met with in diphtheria, but it may also occur in Vincent's angina, agranulocytosis, staphylococcal and streptococcal infections, thrush and occasionally in typhus fever and other diseases. For the most part the diseases are of bacterial origin.
