§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAWorks of this nature usually form part of larger improvement schemes, and it is not practicable to extract the actual cost of eliminating a level crossing from the cost of the scheme, of which it forms part. During the years 1930–1934, Road Fund grants have been made to 26 schemes for eliminating or avoiding level crossings.
